I think that most of my work regardless of genre can be considered to be shot in the style of portrait. I really like classical portrait lighting and believe it can be applied to most situations.
I tend to shoot using artificial light in the studio, but can on occasion be found using natural light.
I shoot mostly digital these days, but still love the ritual of shooting film. I especially love the developing process having to wait to see my results. No instant gratification like my digital equipment. I generally shoot 35mm film, but also bust out the medium format, and Polaroid Land Camera from time to time. If I'm shooting color, I get my work devloped at Panda Labs here in Seattle then scan the negatives myself. I develop all of my own B&W in my home.
The largest body of my work is nude. It is where my modern photography journey started. Although I have primarily worked with women, I am happy to work with anyone on the gender spectrum, binary, non-binary, femme, masculine, queer, cis, etc. Everyone is entitled to feel good about their bodies and create beautiful images with it if they choose.
